Confidentiality

We like to report as much of the work we do on this web site as possible so residents can read what we have been doing on their behalf.

However, there is a significant amount of 'case work' we do that we cannot report either because it is private and personal or becauseĀ it might lead to recriminations for our 'source'.

We will not report the name of any individual unless:

  • We have their permission to do so
  • It is already in the public domain e.g a letter to or an article in the Swindon Advertiser
  • It is in the public interest to do so
  • S/he asks us to do so

In some cases we may report a story using phrases such as 'local residents have informed us that....' but will only do so in the belief that it will not lead to the source(s) being identified.

If we are any doubt, we will not publish the item.
