Personal Profile
Claire Ellis is married to Wayne and they have 2 children. Claire was brought up and educated at the Holy Rood Schools, St Josephs’ and Swindon College.
Claire then studied Business and Computing at the Liverpool John Moore’s University, where she met her to husband to be. On completion of her degree, Claire and her husband ran pubs for JD Wetherspoons. In 1999 Claire became an Area Manager for Greene King Pub Company, running 16 public Houses.
In 2003, Claire moved to North Swindon when she fell
pregnant with her first child and became a full time mother.
Claire became a trustee and a part time volunteer of the Walcot Charity Shop & Library in 2009 and a Parent Governor.
Political Experience
Claire became involved with the Conservative Party in 2007 and was a candidate in the local elections of 2008.
Claire began working for Robert Buckland, MP for South Swindon in May 2010.
She was selected to fight the Haydon Wick Ward seat in the 2011 local elections following Cllr Ian Dobie's decision to stand down after 11 years of service.
