Haydon Brook Latest from the Environment Agency
17 August 2010
Many residents who live near the Haydon Brook are concerned that the Environment Agency (EA) has not yet agreed its flood mitigation plan.
We are now advised that the proposal which includes a contribution of £450k from Swindon Council, is now due to go before their Board in September for a decision.
We will report on that as soon as we receive further information.
In the interim, they have been carrying out some improvement works. The first shot, top left, is how the Brook looked where it is joined by the Haydoneligh Drain. The shot, right, is how it looks today.
The other two shots are 'before' and 'after' of the removal of a silt bank on the Haydon Wick Brook upstream of Torun Way.

Cllr David Renard said "These works are welcome but we are keen to see the final proposals implemented to give the maximum protection to residents living near the Brook.''
